Joby Airlines has been engaged in the research and development of personal aircraft for several years before receiving huge capital injections from Toyota and Intel. Toyota and Intel are investing on the condition that the latter is committed to building a practical all-electric air taxi in the future.
Compared with other air taxis, Joeby Airlines'Ir Taxi is interesting because it is designed to accommodate up to five seats. Because of this advantage, it will be much bigger and heavier than other competitors. The prototype plan shows that Air Taxi will be a vehicle capable of taking off and landing vertically, but it will be more like a traditional aircraft, with only multiple propellers.
