Tokyo Electric Vehicle on August 21, the people's network in the realization of electrification and automation will also be developed in the air, seems to have become the consensus of the industry. Many countries have launched related research, and the competition for research and development of the next generation travel service is intensifying. According to the Daily News of Japan, in order to make the "flying car" from a dream to a reality around 2020, the Japanese government will set up a "Civil and Official Agreement" to formulate the development roadmap within the year, and will officially open the "air vehicle" technology research and development and safety performance related research.

What is a "flying car"?

The flying vehicle, though not clearly defined, is positioned between a helicopter and a small UAV, an aircraft capable of taking off and landing vertically, using batteries and motors to turn the propeller forward. A variety of types, flying at speeds of 100 to several hundred kilometers per hour, will be the mainstream of driverless. Flying cars have many advantages: first, they have fewer parts than helicopters with engines, and have a simple structure; secondly, they don't need drivers, and the cost of sailing is almost the same as taxis; thirdly, they can achieve the shortest distance from point to point without building large-scale infrastructure, and so on.

The United States is leading, and Europe and China are following closely.

Leading in the research and development of "flying cars" is the U.S. large-scale taxi application developer Youbu Technology, which proposes to realize the application of flying cars to travel services in the 1920s. The aircraft they designed can take up to 5 people (drivers and 4 passengers) at a maximum speed of 320 km. The plan is to test flights in 2020 and service in 2023. It is estimated that by 2030, automatic driving can be carried out in 1000 sorties a day, transporting hundreds of thousands of people.

Airbus companies in Europe and China's Yihang Airlines are also stepping up research and development, European and American companies also test aircraft in recent years held in the International Consumer Electronics Show and Geneva Motor Show frequently appeared. Singapore and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates are pushing for co-operation between the government and the people to improve traffic conditions and are stepping up trials. Japan's CARTIVATOR team, made up of about 100 young technicians and students from automotive and aircraft manufacturers, is pursuing research and development aimed at flying at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but has not attracted many followers.

Japan has broad application prospects but many subjects.

In this case, the Japanese government believes that "Japan has a certain demand for flying cars in terms of easing traffic congestion, disaster relief, Mountain Travel and tourism development, and can play Japan's advantages in mass production of high-performance batteries and motors", so it plans to cultivate flying cars as a new generation of basic products. Industry. However, there are still a lot of problems to be solved. In addition to the technical difficulties of doubling the performance of batteries and motors, it is also necessary to solve the matching problems of landing sites and communication infrastructure. In addition, the relevant safety standards and navigation management system also need to be improved, the most important thing is to obtain the understanding and recognition of users.

The Flying Car team, formed in 2012 and composed of young Japanese automotive technicians, now has about 100 people and is funded by companies such as Toyota Motor and NEC, and aims to light the flame at the opening ceremony of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.(文编译飞行汽车feiauto)www.feiauto.com
