而投资Volocopter，并不是吉利第一次投资空中出行领域。早在两年前，吉利就把美国的飞行汽车公司Terrafugia（太力）收入了囊中。Terrafugia的飞行器就更像汽车，它是有折叠机翼、需要跑道起飞的混合动力飞行器。飞行里程也比较长，超过600公里，适用于城际之间运送乘客和货物。与短途载人飞行器Volocity相比，明显是两个定位不同而又互补的市场。
