AeroMobil shows the concept of electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle

Like Terrafugia and Pal-V, AeroMobil has developed a flying car / airplane that needs a runway to take off and land, foreign media New Atlas reported. But on Wednesday the Slovak company announced plans to develop a model electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle.

The four-seat electric vehicle, known as the AeroMobile 5.0 VTOL, will take off and land vertically using a set of rotors at both ends of each wing - the wings will be retracted when it is in ground mode. Once the car is in the air, the push rod behind it will push it forward. The company points out that AeroMobil 5.0 VTOL will be able to fly independently, and hopes that the two models will complement each other.

"The multi-product strategy means that we can use AeroMobile 5.0 VTOL and AeroMobile 4.0 STOL to provide city trips," said Juraj Vaculik, CEO of the company. "Our strategy addresses the limitations of alternative vertical takeoff and landing concepts that are related to dedicated landing sites rather than using existing road infrastructure."

AeroMobil estimates that AeroMobil 5.0 VTOL will take at least seven to ten years to come out and that AeroMobil 4.0 is scheduled to be delivered by 2020.
