卡尔·迪特里希是美国飞行汽车初创企业Terrafugia的创始人兼首席技术官，他在接受记者采访时表示：“在纽约、雅加达和北京等城市中，我们能看到交通严重拥堵的情况。到2025年全球汽车销量预计将达到1.25亿辆左右，届时上述城市的交通状况或变得更加糟糕。”

Can the integration of automobile and aircraft come true?

Cars and airplanes were invented by humans at the beginning of the last century, but how to combine them has become some people's dream.

For a long time, automobiles and airplanes seemed to be irrelevant concepts, but when Elon Musk introduced the Model S electric car and became popular in the market, exceptions emerged. It is worth mentioning that Peter Till, a billionaire technology investor and former partner of Elon Musk, said seven years ago that social progress was reflected in the blowout of social media like Twitter, while cars and their extensions were forgotten in the corner.

Carl Dietrich, founder and chief technology officer of Terrafugia, an American start-up for flying cars, said in an interview with reporters: "We can see serious traffic congestion in cities like New York, Jakarta and Beijing. By 2025, global automobile sales are expected to reach about 125 million vehicles, and traffic conditions in these cities will be even worse.

Terrafugia was acquired last November by China's auto giant Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, also the parent of Volvo. Terrafugia is currently developing its first prototype vehicle. But the "car" is closer to a small aircraft, named Transition, which requires a pilot's license to fly. Analysts pointed out that the time process of obtaining a flight license has some limitations, which will become a bottleneck in its marketing. On August 1st, China Geely Holdings Group officially announced that its Terrafugia Taili Flying Vehicle was scheduled to open in October this year. The first batch of vehicles are in mass production and will be launched in 2019. The product details of the mass production vehicle, but the first batch of users will mainly focus on the US market.
