The California flying car start-up, Joby aviation, announced that it raised $590 million in round C financing, of which Toyota Motor Corporation, a major investor, invested $394 million. Joby is developing an electric air taxi service using its own evtol aircraft and part of Toyota's car manufacturing experience as a strategic partner. The Joby aviation electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft can fly at a maximum speed of about 320 kilometers per hour, and the range after one charge is more than 240 kilometers.
