欧洲飞机制造商空中客车（Airbus）也在研发“飞行汽车”，并计划于今年年底首飞。根据空中客车的计划，2020年之前确定量产样机，10年内或投入使用。

2018年7月17日，波音宣布重启飞行汽车计划，在公司内部成立Boeing NeXt部门，负责城市空中移动出行业务，致力于设计并研发电动飞行汽车。去年10月，波音收购航空技术公司Aurora Flight Sciences。近期，根据外媒报道，波音的飞行汽车原型车——PAV已在美国弗吉尼亚州成功完成其自动驾驶乘用飞行汽车的首次试飞。
